From Morbidly Obese To Health Advocate

Feeling Better At 59 Than At 41!

From my days as a state-champion athlete, running track and swimming, life took an unexpected turn, and before I knew it, I found myself 100 pounds overweight.

For too long, I poured all my energy into everyone else, consistently putting Lisa at the very end of the line. This led me down a path I can only describe as my “health hell journey,” a time when I felt stuck in another body, truly locked in a body that I put myself in, and honestly, I had no idea how to break free.

The shame and embarrassment kept me quiet, even as I was publicly achieving so much.

If you’ve ever felt this way, battling your health in silence while trying to show up for everyone else, know that you are absolutely not alone. I’ve walked that difficult path, and now, with renewed energy and insight, I’m honored to stand before you as a health advocate, ready to invite you to join me on a journey to transform your own story.

Exercise

For me, exercise isn’t about chasing a number on the scale or trying to fit into someone else’s definition of beauty.

It’s about honoring this vessel—this body that has carried me through joy, through grief, through growth.

Movement is my reminder that I’m still here.

It’s how I say thank you to my lungs for breathing, to my legs for standing, to my heart for beating strong. Some days it looks like a full workout, other days it’s a walk with intention. But every time I move, I’m choosing me.

Not for perfection—but for power, for presence, and for the life I still get to live. Exercise is one of the ways I love myself out loud.

Nutrition

Nutrition, for me, is about fueling my future. It’s not about restriction—it’s about replenishment.

It’s how I honor my goals, my energy, and the woman I’m becoming.

I’ve learned to listen to my body, to nourish it with what lifts me up instead of what slows me down. And yes, I love my Iaso Tea, my vitamins, my greens—but it’s more than products.

It’s about making small, intentional choices every day that say: I’m worth taking care of. Nutrition is how I protect my clarity. How I protect my peace. It’s how I say—“I’ve got things to do, and I’m showing up for all of them, fully fueled.”

Mindset

Mindset is where it all begins. It’s the difference between pushing through and powering up.

Between reacting to life—and leading it. For me, taking care of my mind is just as important as taking care of my body.

It’s the daily decision to feed my faith, to speak life over myself, and to hold space for grace and growth.

And I don’t do it alone. Marcellus and I—we keep each other anchored. We remind each other to breathe, to pause, to push when it’s time to stretch and rest when it’s time to restore. We check in. We lift up. We walk this health journey as a team.

Because a strong mindset isn’t just about motivation—it’s about connection. To your vision, to your values, and to the people who hold you high on the days you forget how powerful you really are.
